CO-CREATION OF THE SURVIVAL GUIDE
Former students and tutors, co-created this guide to help current students navigate smoothly during their studies. It contains a short overview of the study programme and reveals some of the practical details on life as an SSD student. It is structured as follows: general good to knows, deep dive into the semesters, and a bunch of FAQs. By the contribution of new students each year we publish a new updated version.
FACILITATION OF THE KICK OFF WEEK - WORKSHOPS
Since September 2017, we organise KICK OFF Week to improve onboarding experience of new students and give them the opportunity to briefly work with each other before they had to form their semester project groups. This workshop evolves each year; mainly, it can be seen as a set of service jams/sprints, for each activity the student has to work in another group.
An example of a KICK OFF week programme
DAY 1- Meeting with each other. Activity: Persona Card- present your mate
DAY 2- Guerrilla observation
DAY 3- Discussion on what makes a great group?
Icebreaker activities: Say my name, Post-it 101
Workshops: Journey mapping, Scenario Building, Roleplaying
DAY 4- Workshops: Kill your Darlings, Prototyping with LEGO
DAY 5- Finale, announcing the groups, time for reflection
